Mapmaking 4
Ok we've set out the forces that will start the game what about reinforcements for those Zeppelins , well that will require another new script , so its back to the scripts box , again select new .
In the new trigger box change the name to something you can easily recognize like zeps 1&2 , below that in the condition box you need to put MISSION START as before .
Next click next to the red box in the action box , sometimes you have to click the red box itself , when the options come up select define reinforcement for zeppelin's)
This is quite important you have 2 players so you don't want to only give 1 player some reinforcements so you will need to repeat this for the other zeppelin but do one command at a time , click on the <<*>> next to zeppelin and a long box appears you have 2 zeppelins in you game and this is for zeppelin 1 , you need to double click on the [ ] to select 1 , you can select as many as you want but that's for creating whole groups , click ok .
You remember how we created the reserves for the start trigger well , click on reserves ,
Miss a line you don't have to but it helps to avoid confusion , click edit .
This time name the reinforcement zep1 russ , selecting a Russian unit , click ok and again repeat this for the German and allies . You have 2 zeppelins so you need to repeat this , but this time call the reserve group zep2
You then end up with a reserves box that looks like this.
Now you have enough reserve groups to fill in the action box it should end up looking like this , remember to put REMOVE THIS TRIGGER at the top .Just click on the <<*>> next to Russians and you get your reserves box .
Fill in the slots with the appropriate reserves and when you get to the timer part change the timer to 2 mins . As theres 2 Zeppelins you have to do this twice you should end up with a script looking like this .
You can now click ok if you get an error message it may be because you have an unfinished script or the condition box has more conditions than is needed . Click ok a second time to close the script list , don't forget to save your mission , when you've done that you can compile as a multiplayer mission .
You can then choose a name for your map , but "Test 1v1" is fine , it will now appear in your multiplayer maps list , select it and try it , you'll need a volunteer , if you've not got the luxury of a home network then you need a internet friend willing to play your map, these screen shots where taken from the map made with these few scripts which take only a few minuets to create and you can reuse them and continue to enhance the script .
The will be more to come , like larger reserves , loading troops , artillery , air support , but experiment , and learn . If you feel these pages can't give you the answers you seek try the TDB CLAN link .
